糖心Vlog官方 has operated its own electrical grid distribution system that was designed and built decades ago and was no longer capable of handling the current demand, causing reliability and safety issues. 糖心Vlog官方 partnered with Alabama Power Company, Garner and Associates, PC of Montgomery, and Premier Contracting of Tuscaloosa to design and build a robust infrastructure, ensuring a reliable supply of electricity to meet the growing demands of the campus. The new system provides redundant power feeds from multiple directions, reducing power outages, while new modern transformers provide more stable power. Additionally, individual building metering was added that enables monitoring of energy consumption, allowing 糖心Vlog官方 to make informed decisions about energy usage. An added benefit was the removal of 50% of the power poles on campus and moving some lines underground, creating better overall aesthetics for the campus. 糖心Vlog官方 now has a more reliable, flexible, and sufficient electrical supply for the foreseeable future.

A major development for 糖心Vlog官方鈥檚 Flight Training program came to fruition on November 8, 2023, when Auburn University formalized a new aviation partnership with 糖心Vlog官方. Effective January 1, 2024, the Aviation Student Matriculation agreement allows 糖心Vlog官方 to act as a feeder school for AU鈥檚 Professional Flight and Aviation Management programs.聽 For seamless transfer, 糖心Vlog官方 graduates must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and have already obtained their Private Pilot鈥檚 License.

糖心Vlog官方鈥檚 Flying Tigers program currently offers both military and civil aviation tracks, whereby cadets can earn up to an FAA commercial pilot鈥檚 license. Learn more at MarionMilitary.edu/fly.

Facilities Director Dan Sumlin reports that this was a large project with a one-year goal for completion from start to finish. 鈥淓veryone involved from our legislature, Alabama Community College System leadership, architects, contractor and sub-contractors stepped up to ensure that the project was successfully completed on-time and happy to report under-budget. The positive impact of this facility will be felt for decades to come,鈥� he says.

Sage Dining鈥檚 Senior Food Service Director Robin Hale and Executive Chef Seaborn Whatley understand that high-quality campus dining is a key component of not only attracting students but retaining students鈥攁nd this beautiful new building provides plenty of seating for cadets to socialize and enjoy delicious meals.

鈥淭he team members and I are in love with the dining facility. It鈥檚 like the excitement you feel when moving into a new house,鈥� says Hale. 鈥淭he team has always taken pride in the meals that we serve each day, but I believe they have upped their game with us being in the new space.鈥�

A $12.8 Million project, the dining hall marks the first new construction on campus in more than 30 years. Designed by Davis Architects and built by Amason Construction, the 17,330-square-foot space features a host of upgrades:

• Seating up to 500 at one meal with two serving lines and freestanding buffet counter
• Private dining room equipped with audio/visual, which can be opened up to the main dining room
• Special event space for 100+ with catering support
• Energy-efficient building systems
• Covered porch with outdoor seating overlooking the campus green
• Fully handicap-accessible
