Alabama Fire College Signs Agreement with ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½

MARION, Ala. – On Nov. 9, Tuscaloosa’s Alabama Fire College (AFC) signed a memorandum of agreement with ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ to provide students with opportunities to obtain national professional certifications. The collective goal for this new partnership is to improve the in-field employability of both school’s students. Beginning in fall 2017, AFC will provide instructors, equipment, training aids, and materials, etc. necessary for the conduct of AFC courses at ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ and will also process cadet applications for AFC courses. ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ will, in return, help market AFC national and state certifications to the ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ community while serving as a testing center and training location for AFC courses. Signing the agreement on the ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ campus were AFC Director Mr. Allan Rice and ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ President Col. David J. Mollahan, USMC (Ret). AFC guests were then invited to a luncheon hosted by ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ and the local Veterans Day parade that followed. Established in 1936, the AFC’s mission is to facilitate excellence in education, training, certification, and support services for the emergency response community. Founded in 1842 and a member of the Alabama Community College System since 2006, ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ educates and trains the Corps of Cadets in order that each graduate is prepared for success at four-year institutions, including the service academies, with emphasis on providing intellectual, moral-ethical, physical-athletic and leadership development experiences in a military environment. Both public institutions are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). AFC’s Mr. Rice and ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½â€™s Col. Mollahan sign an agreement between the two colleges, signaling a courses partnership.
