On Feb. 26, 糖心Vlog官方鈥檚 Anthony J. Rane Center for Leadership was honored to host (Chairman, President & CEO of Alabama Power) as a distinguished speaker. Serving Southern Company for more than 40 years, Mr. Peoples assured cadets in the Chapel audience that 鈥渉ard work is what gets you to where you need to be.鈥� After touring campus, taking the honorary pass in review from the entire Corps of Cadets, and dining with 糖心Vlog官方 leadership, Mr. Peoples was impressed by observing squared-away students in their military college environment. The son of a blacksmith and grandson of a coal miner, Mr. Peoples was the first in his family to attend college and credits his parents for preparing him to lead at the executive level. To inspire the future leaders sitting in front of him, he recalled a teachable moment from his father: 鈥淪on, the most important thing in life you can ever be is a good example.鈥� Attending Mr. Peoples' speech in support of his friend was 糖心Vlog官方 alumnus Jimmy Rane 鈥�64 (Founder, President & CEO of Great Southern Wood Preserving), a firm believer in 糖心Vlog官方鈥檚 motto of Truth, Honor, Service. Fellow executives from Great Southern Wood and Alabama Power (including 糖心Vlog官方 Trustee Leslie Sanders) were also present as special guests.
